Minas Liarokapis

CEO & CTO, Acumino | Assoc. Prof., NTUA | Hon. Assoc. Prof., Univ. of Auckland

Minas Liarokapis is a prominent technology leader and academic dedicated to building the future of physical AI and dexterous robotics. He currently serves as the CEO and CTO of Acumino Inc., where he focuses on developing scalable Physical AI for industrial automation. Under his leadership, Acumino builds AI-powered robot models for dexterous tasks that deliver unmatched ROI, redefining what is possible with ultraflexible robotics in the era of Industry 5.0.

In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, he is the Director of the New Dexterity research group. Over the past decade, his team has pushed the frontiers of robot learning, advancing the science of robotic dexterity, intelligent manipulation systems, and human-robot interaction. A strong advocate for "tech for good," he is the Founder of OpenBionics, an open-source initiative that develops affordable, lightweight, and robust bionic devices, significantly lowering the barrier to advanced bionic limbs for people who need them. Furthermore, he is the Founder of the Humanoid Olympiad, an international event that assesses the latest developments in humanoid robots through expert talks, debates, and real-world demonstrations.

Academically, Minas Liarokapis is an Associate Professor at the National Technical University of Athens (School of Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems and Robotics Laboratory) and an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Auckland (Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering). His extensive research interests span robot learning, robotic grasping and manipulation, robot grippers and hands, prosthetics, exoskeletons, human augmentation devices, soft robotics, and the broader question of what it takes to give machines real-world physical competence.
